We arrived back at Peekskill train station right on time for last bit of golden hour and sunset. As we waited for the train, we observed the sun set upon the Hudson and met two locals. One of them had a dog named Koda, who was a scene stealer. The other was a biker with a really cool motorcycle—Meredith had a brief fun pretending to ride it.
Our trip, as was probably evident in getting lost at Bear Mountain, was not very thoroughly planned. We just set our destination and start time.Yet, that allowed our travel day to be full of pleasant surprises, unexpected adventures, and discoveries. I’ll cherish memories made from this day forever.
